prayer issue: Joseph and Lillian's house in Kitwe

Some of you will have met Joseph Mwila, pictured with me last November during a brief visit to Guernsey.....

And his wife, Lillian, pictured with Maggie and Tendai below during the same visit.....

You may also have read about them in articles on the Zambian page of our website or even seen them in a Newfrontiers magazine in 2009! They are currently, leading the Newfrontiers church in Kitwe, living in a rented house in Kitwe, where I have stayed a few times. At the beginning of 2009 the landlord put the rent up by 50%! She now wants to sell requesting K400million (approximately £55,000). Naturally enough Joseph and Lillian have no funds at all and the bank will not lend to them because of their irratic source of income (the church!) but in faith they offered K200 million (approximately £27,500) and surprisingly this was accepted.

However, the house is run down and in need of a lot of repair work, so the cost could be substantially more. But in recent years Joseph has begun to build his own house, you can see how far he has got below......

which whilst by no means complete is about £10,000 away from completion and once finished would be without need of any repairs like the current house.

Clearly to my mind the completion of the house Joseph has already started building is the better option, but either way there is still the need for substantial funds to be provided.......So would you all, as a church and individually pray for God's provision?

In the meantime, our love to you all back in Guernsey, hope to see you towards the end of June!
