We are a contemporary Christian church who love Jesus and are focused on growing community. We believe God’s gift of freedom from sin and death through Jesus is too good not to share and, with the help of the Holy Spirit, are committed to seeing God’s kingdom grow in our island and beyond. We choose to love people regardless of their background or story because we have found a God who does the same for us. We have found hope.

Encounter
Whether it’s through prayer, singing, reading the Bible or hearing someone share the truth about Jesus, there are many ways we get to experience God. Even when we are living through tough times and filled with hurt, grief, guilt or shame, coming to know Jesus’ unlimited love and power of His forgiveness, your life can be totally changed. Here at The Rock, we believe it doesn’t matter who you are or what your life story has been so far, everyone can have this incredible relationship with Jesus.
Belong
We were created for relationships, we were created to belong. Being part of a church community brings connection, love, and encouragement. We all know one of the biggest issues people face today is loneliness and depression brought on by a lack of belonging. Being disconnected can drain you of all joy and purpose in your life. We believe no one should be living like this, we want everyone to be offered this invitation of being part of a loving church community that you can call home. Because being part of The Rock is like being part of a family.
Follow
Choosing to follow Jesus is the most important decision you can make in your life, but it can’t just be left as a one off moment. We hope your decision will go on to define and shape the rest of your life. Here at The Rock, we believe following Jesus is the beginning of wanting to grow in your relationship with Jesus. However, trying to do this on your own is almost impossible as we need others around us that are on the same journey, helping one another to grow and learn more about how much Jesus loves us.
Share
There’s no doubt a genuine encounter with Jesus totally changes you. Friends, family, work colleagues or your peer group at school will begin to see a difference in you. Being a follower of Jesus is not something you can keep to yourself, it could be the way you act, speak or use your time that draws the attention. This good news of Jesus is meant to be shared as we believe every person should have the opportunity to encounter Him. The truth of Jesus offers you hope and love that nothing or no-one else in this world can imitate.

Who we are
Every week, an amazing team of volunteers work tirelessly to serve our church and the community in a number of different ways. If you find yourself at The Rock, make sure to introduce yourself to some of the team below.

Liz has been at the Rock during its four name changes since it started in the Eighties. Liz has worked part time as the administrator since 2016, this involves keeping the financial records up to date and help with DBS applications amongst other admin tasks. She is involved with the running of our toddler & baby group – Rocktots. Liz married her husband, Tony, back in the eighties and they have been blessed with six children. They now enjoy spending time with their growing tribe of grandchildren

Georgia is employed to lead our amazing children’s ministry, RockKids. She is married to her childhood sweetheart (or something like that!) Jay and God has given them 4 beautiful, bubbly and very passionate children! As well as being a mummy, she has a heart for working with children and before working for The Rock had worked for 14 years in education (both in special and mainstream schools and preschools). When not working Georgia loves to be outdoors exploring and walking their little sausage dog or at home baking and cooking meals for family and friends to come round and enjoy!

Chloe is part of the Leadership Team and is also employed as a Youth Worker at The Rock. Chloe desires to see young people meet with Jesus, have encounters with the Holy Spirit and live a full life in Him. She is constantly coming up with new ideas and creating spaces in which this can happen and is supported by a wonderful team of volunteers. Chloe enjoys evangelism, conversations, coffee, creativity, organising events and thrives when spending time outside.
